stock tire Q's
I have the 14" stock rims, I raised the rear about 1.5" and want to install bigger tires on the rear. My question is what is the tallest and widest tires i can install? and what size are the stock rims?
By the way i have a 65' 6 cylinder 4 lugs.
Thanks,

How did you raise the rear of your car? If you used air shocks please take them off immediately. If you used extra long shackles, I would advise removing them as well. They are terrible for ride quality and handling.
If your car is an inline 6 it really won't like turning anything bigger than a 215 70 14. I had this size on all 4 wheels on mine back when it was an I6. They fit nicely and filled the fenders pretty good. Having larger rear tires is not necessarily a good thing. It won't help with handling and may make it worse. It can help with traction, but the 200 doesn't exactly make tons of power, so thats not really an issue. Another thing is that the 6 cylinder rear axle is not all that strong and wide tires are not really its best friend.
I know with the 4 lug wheels you are limited to wheel choices. I would suggest Ansen Sprint 5 slots, or American Racing or Cragar Nuggets, or American Racing Outlaw II. The last ones are cool, and are available from Glazier Nolan's Mustang Barn.
I like the 5 slots but not with white letter tires. If you go to 15 inch wheels then get 215 60 15 tires.
Why would you want Nissan wheels on a classic Mustang? Barf...

Thanks for the helpful advise, not really worried about the power right now. Since it is still an I6 for now im just going for the looks. I used the helper springs to raise the rear they actually help the soft leaf spring I have for now.
