Default Can you repaint the interior rear quarter panels?

I am working on my 68 coupe and one of the things I need to fix is the interior rear quarter panels. They aren't in terrible shape, but they are peeling / possibly rusting in the corners by the rear windows. I was curious if anyone has had any luck repainting these or if it is something that you typically just replace?

The paint has also rubbed off on my door panels where you would rest your arm with the window down and I wouldn't mind repainting that as well.... again, if it can be done.

If it can be done, where do you go to get good matching paint? I have parchment colored interior on my car.

I did both. I actually just used undercoating on the interior quarters. You can do the top of the dooor by scuffing it up with Scotchbrite. Don't use sandpaper. You'll sand off the texture in the metal. Then shoot it with a spray can of interior touch up paint.

Oh yeah, paint all of the metal on the door. Not just the top. It will look better.

And while you're at it, open the door and lay down and look up at the bottom. Rust area for Mustangs. As long as it did not eat through the metal just sand it, prime and paint with exterior touch up.

Thanks for the tip. Was that pretty close to the original color on your door or did you go with something different?

It was an exact match. This brand is pretty good. The spray nozzle on the can actually sprays a vertical pattern instead of the usual scatter pattern so you get much better results. It is fairly thin paint so be careful of runs. I did that about three years ago and it is doing fine. I probably bought that from NPD or California Mustang or John's Mustang. You can probably get the same brand from a number of suppliers.

On the quarterpanels I have some rusting / flaking in the corners by the windshield. Should I sand those parts down to get rid of the rust or treat it with a rustoleum type product prior to painting?
