I would think if it was stroked they would have changed the heads and ignition system. All of that looks stock to me.

Both of those upgrades are pretty big jobs. Personally, I'd focus on other things first. For the steering, I think you'll need a steering box and drag link as well. Modern Driveline has a complete kit for the clutch.

Personally i wouldn't go with the fleabay clutch items as you read it is a universal part and you'll have to fabricate brackets, etc. to get it to work. I'd look at classic mustang suppliers for a complete kit to install and get it right. You can order free catalogs from websites like NPD, Mustangs unlimited, CJ pony parts, etc. and start adding up costs and comparing.
That PS system may be a good start if it has all the hard parts, it will need a rebuild, especially the control valve and ram, the pump can be rebuilt or swapped for a rebuilt unit. As mentioned you'll need a PS gearbox unless you like to turn a long time, the manual boxes have a taller gear to make it easier to turn 19:1 vs. 16: PS.

Pay attention in the catalogs to which part # centerlink, etc. you will need for PS vs. manual.

Most of the parts store PB boosters (bendix style) do not have the mounting bracket on the back that is required, be sure it has it or it won't work:

You will need a different pedal and maybe different MC as the pushrod may be longer:

Nothing that can't be accomplished in stages once you have all the correct parts in good or rebuilt condition.

Unless its a 69/70 mustang its not gonna bolt in will take a ton of work to make something fit.And if you take a used system off a car its just that used so god knows what works and what don't.1400 sounds like a lot but having a bolt in ac kit that will work for years with no problems is well worth it.

check ebay for a oem ac for a 69/70. i have factory ac in my 70. youll have to take the whole dash out to install it, might as well put a new heater core and blower motor while you have it out, but should be a direct bolt in. then buy all your R134 ac hoses and condenser for classic auto air, thats where i bought my r134 hoses and condenser. i also bought the ac mounting bracket off ebay to use a sanden compressor instead of the york, system works pretty good and im here in arizona where temps get to 125 + in summer. im not 100% sure but i think a 69/70 cougar might take the same unit. anyway its a pretty good size job but when done its well worth it, unless you live where you dont need ac. as for the power brake booster, i bought mine form autozone.
