8.8's have a removable cover on the rear...it looks like this they are used in mustangs and other things 1979 and newer

Found the tag, I have the 8 inch. Needless to say I'll be shuffling that out for a 9 inch.

The easiest way to tell a 8 inch from a 9 inch is try putting a socket on the lowest bolt on the 3rd member,If the socket goes on its a 8 inch if it won't its a 9 inch.
