Don't have one myself but did wire one up in a camaro with significant HP. Customer never complained. He abused it for two years and it survived a horrible crash. Going back into the car when it's restored.

I know a few people that have them in radical street strip type of setups with built big block engines and really low rear gears. Some of these are supercharged and some are just really high compression etc. The Gear Vendor is really cool. Its similar to a transfer case on a 4wd as far as 4 hi and 4 low.

I would think that on a mild or stock engine that the extra drag it puts on the engine would not be ideal, not to mention the cost involved. I just don't see it being a worthwhile.

Personally, I'd just go with a T5 or AOD transmission and 3.50 gears.

I have seen them on a few different types of cars & trucks, from 40' motorhomes to pro-touring 454 based cars, to "The fastest street cars in America".

I hear that everybody seems to love them. It seems at Drag week you had to drive your car from track to track, while towing everything you needed to compete, and I understand that many guys use the GV unit..

I too cant justify the expense for a Mustang. You could spend way less for a new/rebuilt transmission swap and some gears.. Cool Idea though, the SoCal shop is about 20 miles south of me, i drive by it all the time.

Had one in an 84 F250 4X4. It made a big difference in mileage. Was diesel, swapped to a 460.
