Default What type of seat should I put in my mustang?

I just bought a 70 mustang and I'm restoring the interior and was wondering what are the most comfortable and affordable seats?

Not sure exactly but a company like National Parts Depot would be a good place to start. Call them up and ask for a catalog.
I'm moving this to the classics section. Im sure the people there would be more insightful. Welcome to MF.

The OEM 70 seats really aren't uncomfortable. Whats wrong with them?

I would rebuild the factory seats if you have them.Tmi brand has a sport seat conversion kit for them. If you want something new http://procarbyscat.com/ has a lot of seat styles and options.

Along the lines of that same question...how hard would it be (if even practical) to mount high-back buckets seats from say, a 68-70 model in a 65? How much diference wold there be in mounting bolt locations, space, leg room, etc.?

There is a guy back home with a 71 who put in custom 67/68 seats. Had additional bolstering along the sides and he followed my idea of welding in the top back frame of mid 80s mustang seats for the head rests. The smaller seats looked great in his car. Was looking for a pic but cant find it now. Will look again later tonight.

Years ago I pulled a set of seats and seat belts out of a rusted-to-hell 72 or 73 Mustang and put them in the fastback and they bolted right in and I think the look pulled off nicely and are more comfortable than the factory 67 low-back seats.

I honestly don't remember what happened to my factory 1967 seats...my best guess is that I forgot them in the attic of the house I lived in at the time or sold them or...who knows but I have often kicked myself for not keeping better track of them.

But the point I was going to make is that I'm almost positive that any of those seats will bolt right in and do what you want them to do.

whatever type brand you want to. It's your car.
I "rebuilt" my highback buckets with new foam and 69 vermillion seat covers.
