Wink Hello New member w/some questions :P

well i am new to this forumn so i should introduce myself...kinda.. I own a 1972 mustang coupe base model that i started to restomod and restore. I am a young owner :P (19) although ive been around classics all my life, this year is the first year i was a classic car driver. I had this car since i was 10 a gift from my father. And only now have i recently put it under my name and starting to fix it up. I have a couple of question

1.) i recently had my ball joints, bushings, tie rod ends, shocks, and pitman arm changed. But when going on the freeway it tends to veer off to the side because it gets caught on the road and drags it along. I did torch my springs (stupid i know but it was ridiculously high) so im sure it contributed to handling problems but this doesnt seem like a spring problem. Also when i jack up my car my alignment gets thrown off..IDK WHY!! frustrates me since i just paid $60 for that sh*t. but can be the reason for this??..and also i converted from drums to wilwood disc in the front only...i have a 225/40/R18 tire in the front
2.) i have a 302 in it and i had it built. The builder claimed to that the motor pulls out close to 500HP (which i doubt). I havent dynoed it but from the spec i was wondering the ball park range

280 duration 110 lobe separation cam
RHS aftermarket heads valve angles 20 degrees/intake runner 200cc/ exhaust runner 58cc/intake valve 2.020/ exhaust valve 1.600/valve length .100
doug shorty headers with H pip 2.5 piping with delta flow 40's flowmaster
750 holley carb single feed
edelbrock airgap performer port matched to heads
hypereutetic pistons chrome molly pushrods and connecting rods i believe h beam not to sure
stock crank with arp bolts all around
with 9.75:1 compression ration..i believe its about 125-140 PSI

3.) once in a while i like to light up the tires in front of my house (stress reliever dont judge haha) but with tiny gears (i believe 2.93 or 3.08) and slapper bars i cant light them up if i stomp on the gas..what gears should i put?.. i have 275/40/R20 so that doesnt help my case either..with stock ( i think) FMX tranny. i want to get bigger gears just dont know which size i should get and also do a posi on it.

4.) and last question. i have American Racing wheels on the back 20x9 i believe. i have a 275 wide tire. i can go wider but i want to know whats the widest i can go with that rim and not have any issues

thank you!!!

I seriously doubt the 500 hp mark also.
Did you change the stall of the torque converter?
You may have a C4 if it came with 302 originally, but who knows, maybe your Dad?
Or you could crawl under the car and count screws...

well i have a much bigger tire in the back i have a 275/40/20 in the back and i have slapper bars. I noticed that when i take off fast it just rockets it doesnt "peel out". and i think thanks to the taller tire my diff gears are alot more smaller

If jacking the front end off the ground throws off the alignment you have issues somewhere. If you can't chase it down yourself see an alignment pro.
