It's hard to say because excellent condition has different meaning to different people. Here's a Collector car value report. Rate the car what you think it's condition is from the scale of 1 to 5 and Deduct value % from the list on the bottom and that should get you in the ballpark value figure.

Collector Car Market Review Value Report

1968 FORD MUSTANG 289-195hp (8cyl-2V)
car condition value 1 thru 5: 1) being flawless and better then new and 5) being a basket case:

2dr Hardtop 5)$1050 4)$3575 3)$7800 2)$11450 1)$17775

Deduct:
200-115hp (6cyl-1V) -20%
3spd manual transmission -8%
Manual steering -5%
Manual top (conv) -10%
Drum brakes (V8) -5%

Here's the link for the 1968 value report:

These prices aren't in stone, a lot depends on buyer and seller's situation. Good luck.

Any pics?

200-115hp (6cyl-1V) -20%
Manual steering -5%

$11450 - 20% = $2290
$11450 - 5% = $572.50

Total deduct % = $2863.50

$11450 - $2863.50 = CAR COLLECTOR VALUE $8586.50

Yea, the guy is in the right ballpark but, who wants to pay exact value, TOP DOLLAR VALUE? I would buy at somewhere between $7500 & $8000 at most....which IMO is to much, if I really had to have that car. $7000 to $7500 is more realistic and that would be a fair deal for both buyer and seller. If you have time and don't mind waiting, the right deal for both buyer & seller eventually shows up. That's just IMO? Good luck
