It's better than some of the others you've posted. Take a magnet with you. Stick it all over the quarters around the wheel wells, along the rocker panels.
If the owner is cool, pour a gallon of water down the cowl and make sure none of it drains into the car and it all makes it's way to the ground.

anyways I'm not very picky but i don't have the cash for the 68 fastback or any fast back for that matter.
ideally i want a car with no rust and good suspension and a non running 289/302 b/c i plan to install a 351w. i want one installed but not running so i can get a better price and take pictures and mental notes to help me install the new motor. ive never done an engine swap before just transmissions.

hey coupe, where did u get your pony painted? and is that the correct blue color for your mustang? i was thinking patriot blue (Chrysler) or black.
rmodel65-this inst really general, its pretty specific to classic cars. but what ever you want boss.

i settled on the price of 4,500 for the car. i told him i wanted to do one last look around and asked for a glass of water. i poured it in the cowl, and what do you know right down the vent into the floor board. so i ended up walking.
from underneath it didn't look to bad. like maybe some bondo and a new seal for the vent. should i come back with another offer or just stay away. any easy repairs?

Good luck finding a non rusted cowl in Ohio. Also you are negotiating backwards. Find the car you want, pick apart any problems, make an offer. Not make an offer and then try to get it down. You have to be care free and non interested to make a great deal.
What did the seller say when you dumped the glass of water in the cowl?
