Looking at buying a 68 S code from a friend. Dont know what his would be valued at. Its a 390BB, 4 speed, Maroon, standard interior. 3.25:1 trac loc. All this per the data plate and Vin code. There is no motor or tranny. Rusty cowl and floors. This would be a complete tear down. What would YOU pay for this? Thanks in advance!!

Im expecting to go into this spending around $15-$18K on body and engine parts over the next year or two. Id do the restoration myself. My friend selling it has a body shop and garage that I'm going to work on it in. He just wants to see it running again. He said $5K, I offered $3500. Just wondering what people in other Rusty states would pay.

Rolling chasis fastbacks (67-68) go for from $1-3k depending on rust and stuff. Check out Ebay for a good ballpark price.

Car looks awesome btw, has lots of promise!

I don't know what the value of the car is which is probably why you're here posting your inquiry. However, if this car is something you really want, get it (after you're done doing your homework). Anytime you buy a "used" car, you're going to have to put some work into it to get it where you want it to be.

Nothing wrong with taking the plunge. Sometimes ya just have to treat yourself. Hope it works out for you. Post before/after pics if you have time.

I don't know your life situation, but I need to have a project staring at me to ensure it gets completed. Of course, if you're hiring it done, go with the location with the best and most reliable shop.
