DSO has me confused..
Perhaps this has been hashed before and if so I apologize, but we just picked up a new 65 fb and its door tag has me confused.
It's DSO (84) decodes as 'home office reserved', the date code reads m15 (December 1964), and the color (c) decodes 'honey gold', a color not offered on 'early 65 fastbacks'.
Since I can't get a marti for 65 is there any way to find what this car was made for?
Also I know marti can change color codes on door tags before 67 but can they change the DSO also or is that set in stone?

My brother had one of those back in the day. Dark blue '65 notch, blew the engine, eventually sold it off and lost track of it. I seem to recall Ford's historical department had a minor interest in it, as they contacted us asking for us to donate it a couple times. They never were specific in why this DSO Mustang was that interesting, yet not interesting enough to pay money for it.

Hmmm well thx for the info. I contacted 'The Henry Ford' and may try to have them research this car. After some research I know as posted above they were employee/exec leases, VIP loaners, promos, test mules, and also some were set aside for Carroll Shelby. I'm quite sure this wasn't a Shelby designate, but I'm interested in finding out if its a car featured at the World Fair as display, since its a rare color not offered at the time and its a fastback built in 64.
Anyways thx for the help!!
