Well, I was going to shoot you the link for it, but I haven't been a member long enough.

Ha.. I just realized you said the guys was asking 7K for it. I would offer him 6 if you feel its worth it and then go up from there. Seems like a decent price.

Well supposedly he has gotten another offer and we are up to 8,500, and if you say it was worth about 8, then I think I am ok with it, but not really anymore. Thanks for all the help, I hope to go up Tuesday to get it

I would only bring $8400 and only tell him you have $7500 once you see it, take it or leave it. But then again, Im not sure what shape that car is actually in. You need to look closely at it. I just checked ebay and these type cars are going for between 4-9K, it all depends on the shape of it. Make sure you are ready to go poking and prodding and find out what the story is on the car.

Cash talks. If the guy has an offer for more, but the car is still sitting there, the offer doesnt really mean anything. Point out some flaws other than what have been pictured and go with it.

Sounds like he is just trying to get more money out of you(and its working). I would just tell him to take the other offer and if it falls through to let you know.

Yea, did all of the above yesterday and right now he is going with an offer of 8,000, didn't exactly like dealing with the guy so I told him to go with that, and I would give him 8,00 if it falls through.

It was in pretty good shape, a few things that I know I could have fixed, but I guess it does't matter now, haha

Sometimes you gotta walk away.
I checked out a 72 cuda recently which looked nice in a dark garage but the second visit and drive in daylight revealed a long to-do list that I just don't have the time for.

We've bought and sold a lot of vintage cars over the years (including 3 1st Gen mustangs) the best advice my husband gave me was "Always be ready to walk away". If you aren't, you'll probably pay too much. It sounds like he's using the old "someone else in offering me X dollars ploy". I'd tell him that sounded like a good offer, he'd better take it and keep on looking.

There are plenty of these ****ing things out there. $8000 is too much for that car. I'll find you twice the car that is for $8000 around here. ESPECIALLY if the guy is dicking you around on price. What a ****. That's a terrible way of conducting business. This is a sale, not an auction.

Keep looking. Another one will pop up.
