Want to pull the trigger on this...
Hey all, found this ad on my local autotrader.

We are selling our 1966 Ford Mustang hardtop which is in excellent condition. The car has been restored and upgraded over the last 13 years.
We have owned it since 2005.
The restoration included:
Candy Apple Red exterior paint
New black interior
Rebuilt front and rear suspension
Power front disk brakes, manual steering
American Racing 14" chrome wheels
C-4 Automatic transmission
302 cu. in. V-8 engine
Engine upgrades include:
Holley 600 four barrel carb
K&N chrome air cleaner
Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold
Edelbrock Performance aluminum cylinder heads
Roller rocker arms
Edebrock Performance Street Cam
New timing chain
Chrome oil pan, new fuel pump
Custom exhaust headers with dual exhaust system
Mallory electronic ignition system
New battery and cables
The car is also equipped with a Boomerang anti-theft system (not activated), rear seat fuel shield, headrests (69 Mustang) four way hazard flashers.
The AM radio and all gauges work properly
The car comes with restoration receipts going back to 1998, and a complete 1966 shop manual.

17 seems a bit steep
I see the cheep holly carb not a 4150 style like a street avenger
a crappy brake master cylinder
whats looks like a not impressive ignition system mallory wires maybe
the c4 setup which says its rebuilt that's good. Those are a tough trans but I prefer the 5 speed setups
Still running a crappy fixed 4 blade fan on a tired looking radiator
looks like oil / water leak from the timing chain cover
other than these mostly minor issues it looks like a good ride pics can be tough to judge off of
realistically that car is probably worth 10k

im curious how an appraiser would know what to look for unless they were a classic mustang owner as well.
It just doesn't scream "im kinda close to perfection" as you would expect for 17k
really who the hell puts on disk brakes and runs a single MC...to make matters worse its not even an original MC. If I recall correct they came with a screw on lid not a snap. So apparently they went though all that trouble to scrounge up some POS master cylinder off who knows what so they could avoid improved safety and functionality of a dual MC to save a few buck at the expense of a lot of time.
Its things like that that make me wonder what was really going on.
It just looks neglected to me and or rushed though at least under the hood so who knows what else is going on with it.
I still think its a 10k car at best

i completely understand where you're coming from Gun and i appreciate your input. and yes, for close to 20,000 you would expect near perfection, agreed.
actually the appraiser i contacted is a classic mustang owner! so he should know what he's talking about.

+2 here, 8-10k tops. Check the lower rear quarters for rust under the paint, ask if the cowls leak....Look on Ebay for some good price comparisons of what people are paying now. Still...a very nice car.
