Default Rear end questions

I got a deal on a 9" Versailles axle and it came with a 2.75 gear ratio third member. I have a 302 with a C4 tranny, is it good to use this rear end set up? Is anyone running a C4 with a 2.75 gear ratio? Is it going to be sluggish on take off? Will tire size help me?Please help as you notice I'm not a gear ratio kind of guy.

Thank you for all your help again...

I am also building a Quick Performance 9" posi with 3.70 gears and I have a 302 and a C4, I know the gears are are not the best for the C4 but want to switch to a T5 sometime in the future and want the car to be peppy on the street.

With a 3 speed, it is all a compromise. Your setup is great for the highway but will be sluggish on take off.
Where do you drive the most, streets or highway?
Tire size can only help so much before getting funny looking and other problems.
