Default Mustang ****. 428pi install last weekend.

If I would have known then, two years ago, what I know now....I probably would have started out with an easier engine block as opposed to startng with an FE. This was my first engine build and instal. In my two year journey I have learned a lot about the history of FE block. I can't wait to find and build another.

The work of a master engine builder : (. Missing a piston and not able to crank....

It's a tight fit. I still need to cut the plug wires, get a bottom coolant hose, wait for an FE cable passenger side pivot clutch fork to arrive by mail and figure out how to bend my oil dipstick rod around these crazy painintheass headers....put fluids in trans, oil pan and radiator. I had to remove my power brake booster and relocate the brake cylinder to the wall. I'm going to miss those power brakes, when I got the car eight years ago, it had four drum manual brakes...now has four discs. I scored an oil adapter out of truck that goes out from the motor at a 90 deg angle because the original one interfered with my front sway bar. I had to get my Canton specially made for my coil suspension and rack in pinion steering oil pan modified a tad bit more. And I smashed the heck out of my headers so that I could steer my car again and install/fit my starter....and...this is my daily driver/only car that I own. I took a week of leave to put it in. I'll be bussin it to work next week. I stopped this weekend to take my wife to a hotel on the beach and get the grease and junk out of my hands. I logged over 75 hours working on that car in the past 6 days...I took some time to think and rethink about things I forgot to do.

Enjoy the pictures:

My poor headers:

I went with a Blue Thunder intake (recommendation from the guys at the FE forums)

New hood (as recommended by members there) in order to fit the beast:

I'm between excited and about to puke every night. I keep checking things hoping that I didn't miss anything.
