Default Fuel tank replacement

I'm looking to replace my fuel tank (65 convertible) and am wondering which tank you guys recommend. I saw that CJPP has a few different ones ranging from under $200 to just over $400 (for the stainless). Is the more expensive one worth it? I plan to just go with the 16-gallon but am not sure which one to get.

Thanks!

I replaced my tank several years ago with one I bought off eBay for less than $100.
Still looks and works great.

Of course the stainless one will be nearly bullet proof. ...but does it need that.
A gas tank swap on a Mustang is a fairly easy job.
For what CJ wants for a stainless tank I could replace it with an El Cheapo tank almost 4 times.

BTW - SS tank on eBay for $185 w/free shipping

If you only drive the car once a month or less go with the stainless. Water will build up in the gas from the humidity in the air as these tanks are vented. Ethanol in the gas will not solve this for the long term condensation problem. If you use it as a daily driver, go with the cheaper one. Refueling the gas once a week with ethanol mixed gas we get today should keep the water build up minimal and it should last for 15 years or more.

I replaced mine with a cheap one from Mustangs Unlimited for under a hundred. Its been in the car for about ten years now and is doing great. My car is only driven about twice a month.

When I swapped my fuel tank, I used the 19 gallon tank from a 69 for the added capacity. I lost about 3" of trunk space because of the larger tank but it never caused any problems. The added cruising range was nice on road trips.
