Rubber vs Polyurethane front end

Rubber vs Polyurethane front end
Do you all have any thoughts on changing the front end. I would love to go with a Bilstein coil over set up, however that is not in the wallet. So I am looking at replacing the upper arms, lower arms, springs, perches and spring pad.
Has anyone used the polyurethane or had issues? That is the way I am currently leaning. I have read that you don't want to use the poly on the strut rod bushings but they never said why.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

To piggy back on this answer, poly is really firm and has a tendency to squeak if not properly lubed. It will provide a much firmer almost jolting ride, but more precise in handling. Would that difference be that much different; to the novice, no, but to someone really ****, yes.

Thanks for the responses. It is a 1973 Mustang the biggest, heaviest mustang, so there is only so much performance I am going to get out of it. I would like it to be tight, but not jolting.
My initial thought is a combination there of. I have read, I am not sure how true it is, that you don't want poly on the strut rods, this makes sense to me, where that would be where the jolts are when you hit bumps, pot holes ect. Obviously, once I bust it apart and redo everything, I am not going back into change it.
