Default Instrument Lights wont wo

I have a 65 Mustang coupe. My intrument lights were working and then all of a sudden stopped. I have changed the fuse with no luck. When I check the fuse box with the meter I don't show any power. When I check other places in the fuse box the rest works. Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

did you try looking for a bad wire or gauge cluster or anything of that nature?

O.K.-3 things come to mind: 1) The headlight switch is bad-(probably not likely if the headlights work, but a possibility) 2)The constant voltage regulator behind the dash is bad 3)like the previous post-bad ground somewhere.

I had a 71 Ranchero that the headlights worked but the dash and tail lights didn't. The light switch was the problem, try turning on the lights and wiggling the **** to see if you can make contact.

Ok I have checked the voltage regulator on the back of the instrument panel and its checks out fine. I can't find where the bad ground might be. I have not changed the headlight switch, it does turn the headlights and tail lights on.

Thanks David

Since the wires under you dah are old you can start replacing wires. Electrical is not my strong point so I use the ameteur method of replacing wires until whatever wasn't working works again. Not the best way to do it but it's cheap and easy.
