huh? is that a bad model or something? after it's warmed up the engine runs fine(somewhat interesting getting it going sometimes with the manual choke, the only reason I say it runs rich is that it smells like gas sometimes, only reason it hasn't been run more lately is it has a dead battery and it takes a bit to jump it, that and I forgot my keys for it when I went home

1850-2 is a holley 600 cfm, vac sec,, good carb for your motor ,,but might have blow power valve,,making you run rich at idle,,,or bad meting block,,

ok, thanks, I'll look into that over spring break. one thing I noticed while I was looking for the numbers was that it was fairly black in the carb, which I'm assuming is from either it deiseling(fixed it, idle was too high) or the backfiring from trying to drive while the engine was cold, probably spray some carb cleaner in there the next time I get it running...

blow power vavle will make you run rich at idle...because its open all the time,,,[&:]
