Default AOD in a 65

I have a 65 and am doing some Resto-Mod things to the car, such as disc brakes Rack and Pinion, AC etc. I found an AOD transmission I can get for a few dollars. I wanted to know if headers will clear it, since it is a little wider than a C4. What parts would I need to do the swap? Should I just rebuild the C4? I read that I could get an OD unit for the C4, is that true.
Thanks for any info
Kent

I would contact http://www.lentechautomatics.com/aodhome.html and see what they have available. Do you already have the headers?
