Default rear disk brake conversion from faq

has anyone done the rear disc brake conversion that is shown in the FAQ - classic performance products article on converting the rear brakes using GM parts?

I am doing the Granada swap and looking at alternatives for getting to 5 lug in the rear (looking like the ranger axle/hub conversion so far)..............

Thanks

i'm thinking about setting up a markVIII rear in mine, but not too sure yet. haven't had time to pull the parts outta my girls driveway and haven't had time to mess with the stang either.

but than again, not everyone has access to a MarkVIII rear.

i personally wouldn't use gm parts in my stang, but that was already argued in another thread.

I am thinking about buying a 9" housing from streetrodgarage and adding the diff - $545 plus shipping. I have been trying to buy aftermarket stuff vs. the junkyard gig

yeah, i hear ya on that one! for right now i just wanna beef up the rear a bit, gotta upgrade from the 7.25 and it carried the best price tag, FREE!!!! but in the long run, when i replace my rear suspension for a coilover system, i'm getting the rack with the 9" housing and adding a posi 3.50 to it.

nice 66 slickman! Did you do the rear disc brake conversion or the fronts? The web link specified the fronts and I got the Granada brake kit from degins for that - lookin to do the rear end. Let me know, thanks.

I am keeping my eyes peeled for a 77-81 Lincoln Versailles in a junk yard to convert my rear to a 9" with 5 bolt disk brakes.

Nope, I did the fronts but, if you contact the guy that's stated in the beginning of that article in the link, he can not only sell you the bracket but give you a complete parts list of everything you need..
