New motor is in! And the car seems to sit a little different

RE: New motor is in! And the car seems to sit a little different
OK, I'm calling you out!
How the heck did you reduce the "Rotating Assembly" (i.e. crank, rods, pistons, and I'll even throw in the cam, lifters and rocker arms), by 35-40 lbs when you're running an AOD?.
Did you change your torque converter as well?
I could see it with a manual, because you can always go to an aluminum flywheel, gun drilled, and knife edged crank, etc. That would quickly add up. But with a flex plate, you've got me wondering.
Now if you mean you dropped 35-40 lbs overall on your new engine, OK, that I could see.
So spill the beans man. What all did you have done to that puppy!

Super light 4340 forged crank vs the cast one that I took out.
Super light h beam forged rods vs the I beam rods
Super light diamond flat top pistons vs the ross racing pistons I took out
Spools up crazy fast
Redline is 8k

Going to do some short track (1/8 mile) racing this Friday...so I'll see what it can do fresh with no tune. The only thing I was able to do is fire it, burn in the cam, set the timing at 35 total, and screw down the idle nut on the carb.
We were going to dyno it on Saturday, but it took me too long to get it back in the car so I ran out of time.
I should have dyno numbers on in a few weeks though.
BTW - hey soaring...does my hood fit better now? I put in the hood pins and it holds it down better on the passenger front lip I think

That's a KILLER motor - one that the rest of us can envy. [sm=hail.gif][sm=hail.gif][sm=hail.gif][sm=hail.gif]
Can't wait to see the numbers from the track and from the dyno!
