Well im really considering droping in a CHP small block 427 cobra classic in my soon to be 67 fastback and I need some tranny suggestions. With this car I want it to be able to perform but also be very street driveable. Any suggestions on a good transmission that would work well with this engine setup? Thanks, Adam

hey good decision for going for chp lol i got a 347 from them. well with the tranny do you want a manual or autmatic ? i mean with manual go witht he richmond 6 speed or a t-5 from ford racing the richmond transmission cost about 2 g's from summit i dont know about the ford racing and for automatics i would go for a 4 speed c-4 or c-6 which should hold up to your 427 as for my 347 im going to take it out and install it into my dads 68 convertible and im goign to upgrade my car with a 393 from chp or and 429 that im thinking of building hmmmmmmm decisions, decisions....[8D]

If you go with the automatic option, get a built C-4. You loose a lot less HP through the C-4 than you will in a C-6.

Don't forget the rear. If you have an 8" you'll want to upgrade to a 9". BTW, C4's and C6's are three speeds.
