What is a 1969 Mach 1 worth?
Here is the deal, I am buying a 1969 Mach 1 Mustang and I am trying to figure out what the car is worth.
Here are the details:
It is an original 351 4V M code Mach 1 Lime Gold color and black vinal interior, factory AC, Power brakes, power steering, all intact
The car is supposed to be the first Mach 1 sold in California (according to the original owerner, who I am buying it from)
Original Black Plates, the car has never been painted, motor has never been out of the car, 66K original miles.
Sounds good so far!
Now the negative stuff:
Although a solid car (rust free) the paint is badly oxidized and metal is exposed and light oxidization in some areas (car need to be painted)
The front seats are torn, needs headliner, dash cover, door panels, carpet, needs more or less a complete interior.
Engine, although it runs, needs a tune up, and the engine bay and motor brakets and components need painting and detailing
Underneath is solid but needs to be painted, the original exhaust system is still in place, but is rusted looking and should be replaced, along with leaf springs
Battery tray is rusted (common)
Bottom line everything including the carburator, is 100% original, What is something like this worth?
Thanks,

RE: Wh - Iat is a 1969 Mach 1 worth?
Based on what I've seen on Ebay I'm guessing around 15K. Would be a little nervous about tune up part though. If that is all it needs why wouldn't they do it before selling - easy and cheap to do.

Is it a 351W or C? I believe it should be a Clevland, cant remember though. At any rate, seeing as most of the car either needs to be replaced or refurbished, I wouldnt offer any more than 7or8K. There was a guy around here that was selling a clean 69 fastback with a clevland, but needed an interior (was gone), wanted 8000 for it, but the body was super clean with fresh paint. At any rate its worth what youre willing to pay for it.

Thanks,
it's also a pretty bold statement that it was the 1st Mach 1 sold in CA...but still if it has the C, the engine itself is worth a few grand...
