My dad has a 1970 Boss 302, with approx 43,000 original miles, original driveshaft, matching numbers for engine. He has owned it since 1985 and put very ferw miles on it, he has some work done here and there, most recently a complete tune-up, pluds, wires, points, etc, paid around $600, what is the car worth?

The paint is original and it has been garage kept since 1985.

If it were in perfect condition 50k as is probably 30-35k. Don't sell it, it will keep going up in value.

How come the aftermarket steering wheel with only 40K miles on the car? And whats the story with the paint problem on the drivers sdie fender? Do you guys store car batteries on it during the winter or what? I'd be upset over the $3000 offer. I'll give you $3014.98 for the car. I'll pick it up and you don't even have to there when I do! lol...I say keep the car. Of course if you get tired of pushing it in and out of the garage, let me know and I'll come and rid you of the problem. And I promise I'll never sell it. (My heirs might, but I won't).

i was just pulling your leg. $3000 is small beans compared to the big bucks that thing could pull in. i say restore it to as best condition yuo can. then barret jackson for the big bucks! or really, just keep it, keep it in the family, one day it will be worth a million, and whent hat day rolls around and you sold it, your gunna be kicking yourself.

I would guess around 25k if you sell it as is somewhat locally.

If you clean it up a bit more, or put it on ebay you could easily get 30k+

Regardless, if you do a little homework prior to selling (kinda like your doing right now) and get all the details then you will almost definitly get more money. Learn what codes mean what in the VIN, door tag, etc. and make sure those are all available in your ad or auction. Don't take the first offer that comes along just because you didn't spend much on the car! You have a genuinely rare mustang that has been climbing in value ALOT over the last 5-10 years.

Then again the way the classic car market has been going you could even hold onto that car and it would probobly be a more secure and profitable investment than stocks in the short or long term. :P
