Default Exterior Restoration...

I'm 16 years old and I just spent half of my lifes savings uptil now into buying my 1966 coupe. It is the perfect car! Mechanically inpecable! However the cosmetics of the car are pretty ugly. It needs all new interior and exterior. My uncle who lives a few miles away puts in car interior for a living so he is gonna help me with that. However I am not sure what to do about the exterior. There is no major rust (just oxidation), but the paint that is 38 years old obviously needs to come off. I am planning on painting it myself. How should I go about this? Should I use a stripper and strip it to bare metal and then prime it that day or is it okay to sand a little bit to bare metal everyday and then prime it like a week later? What type of sand paper should I use in each step? Also what kinda paint system and spray gun should I get urethane, laquer, enamel, or other?
