69 Mach 1 Question!
Just bought an original unmolested 69 mach 1 the car has original 67K miles, I bought it from the original owner.
It needs a paint job, and some interior work.
Here is the question, it is an M code Mach 1, bone stock, there is no front or rear spoiler, nor is there the blacked out tail light panel. I would like to restore the car 100% original, but I really like the way those options look on the car. My question is in 3 parts. 1. If I make these modifications does it hurt the cars originality, and value? 2. Did mach 1's in 69 even come from the factory with the spoilers? front/rear I have heard that dealers/owners added them??? 3. What about the blacked out tail panel?
Thanks,

RE: 69 Mach 1 Question!
1, the slats and the spoilers were factory options.
2, The honeycomb tail lamp section was added in 1970
3. no 1969 MACH had Magnum 500's stock, most were style steel wheels
Here is a 1969 MACH with the propper stuff

RE: 69 Mach 1 Question!
Ofcourse making any changes will hurt originality but the changes you are talking about will have no significant affect on value. First thing is to pull a deluxe Marti report to see what options it came with. Like Twister said, slats and spoilers were optional. The blacked out tail panel was 69 Boss 302 specific and never done on a factory 69 Mach. The 69 Boss had the blacked out hood, headlight buckets, tail lid, and tail light panel and the 69 Mach had only the blacked out hood.

RE: 69 Mach 1 Question!
Thanks for the responses, I understood most of this already but was not 100% sure! So if I had the spoilers, this was a dealer option for the car, and is ok! But the blackout tail panel is a no no since that is a boss option only, correct? And what exactly are the slats? (is that the blacking out)
