Steering Wheel Puller or Socket (photo) ?
I'm trying to get in and replace my turn signal cam and switch - there was an aftermarket steering wheel that wasn't hard to remove but I'm wondering if I will need a steering wheel puller to get this last nut off or will a large socket work? I've never used a steering wheel puller and was wondering if that's what it's for or just getting the wheel off initially. I gotta go buy a larger socket set than what I have anyway...

You don't use a puller to take the nut off.
You don't use a puller to take the nut off.
That's what I figured but just thought I'd ask before going out and wasting money on one.
Thanks for the help this forum is a great resource!

AHH man plz dont use pliers, it will just tear the hell out of the hex and make it look like crap. If you dont have a socket buy a socket. There is no reason to put gouge marks in the nut and risk roudning it off.

The nut has to come off first then use the puller to remove the plate under it, that what the threaded holes in the plate are for, attaching the puller bolts, then the center bolt of the puller goes down to the shaft in center. turn the center bolt till the plate puls off.

I think you might need a 15/16" socket for that hex nut. Purchase a wheel puller at Autozone or your auto parts place of choice for around $13. Get the one with configuration for at least 3 bolts like the one in the link below. I originally purchased the 2 bolt one to pull my wheel but needed the three bolt with an aftermarket steering wheel...
