I've bought several vehicles from individuals here in ga, and tax only comes into play when you register the vehicle at the tag office, my tag for my 66 coupe was 26 dollars.(got it last week) Now if you buy a vehicle and it is not drivable and you do not get a tag and registration you still have to pay the yearly taxes on it, like my 93 GT i have to pay 50 bux this year.

I'm sure that GA has income tax. I'm also pretty amused by your guys' suggestion of fraud as the best way out of it
lol. It's not about getting completely out of paying it, its about paying LESS!

Man, Jawja treats its' folks nice. As said, in Texas the seller pays the sales tax, then the owner is responsible for registration, title and license. That part can be haggled with the seller though. But, after that, the owner must get a new registration sticker and pay of that each year. I think my 65 costs me about 50 bux a year to keep it registered.
