Yeah, any motor would fit with alot of fab work. I personally wouldn't try it with a 65-66 frame. Why? Beacuse they are weak as hell. Flex would be crazy. Alot of work would need to be done, and that would just add weight.

I saw an immaculate '65 Fastback drag car on eBay a while ago that had a 426 SOHC, apparently a rare engine. Anyhow, the car was one of fifty '65 Fastbacks that Ford produced strictly for drag racing (Shelby had no part in this). I forget the name of the rare drag car at auction, but it is apparently famous in drag racing history, so much that the last time I saw the highest eBay bid it was over 1.5 million dollars and the reserve hadn't been met!

it was an afx car the beggning of the funny cars they were altered wheelbase and it was a 427
