Default 1970 front drums to 1968 (I gotta question)

I am swapping a 1970 front and rear set-up with five lugs to my 1968 as part of a I6 to v8 upgrade. I have a pair of 1970 front drums with the spindles. I remember that 1970 tie rods were bigger than earlier years, but would I need the bigger tie rods to link to the 1968 or could I just swap from the spindle out? If I have to go with the 1970 tie rods, should I just get the whole package (i.e. sleeves, outer tie rods, etc.)?

Thanks in advance,

Mike (in Portland)

well....you might as well swap the spindle...the 70 hub is unique and the spindle is HUGE

By "swap the spindle," do you mean to use the 1968 bits and just the 1970 drum? Or use primarily 1970 parts (bigger spindle, bigger tie rods, etc.)?

Thanks!

REMOVE the 1968 spindle and install the 1970 spindle...
