Hello

Found this link

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_FE_engine#390

But now Im down to 265 hp @ 4100 rpm

Im starting to be afraid to ask anything more...

Gone from a pleasing 390 hp
to a just enough hp 320 hp
to a way to little hp 265 hp

The way this is going Im gonna have to hire someone to push me

Erik,
Once you get that 390 humming like a tiger, you will definitely be proud of it.
The below web site is dedicated to our beloved 390's. Sign up, register your car with them, and begin posting your questions. The guys on that site are very knowledgeable and there are lots of registered members with pics of their babies (cars that is...)

http://www.scodemustang.com/main.php

You have a fairly rare car, only 10,547 +/- 1969 mustangs had 390s in them. Also, you might want to check out Marti Auto Works at (http://www.martiauto.com/index.html) for a report on you specific car. It'll tell you all about your car (for a fee) and for about $250.00 they'll give you a numbers breakdown as to the exact number of cars that were produced exactly like yours.

Good Luck!

If you're wanting to know if the engine is stock, just post the VIN. If you have the door data plate, that'd be helpful as well. With those 2 items, we can tell you what the car was from the factory...

Man, it'd be nice to have an assortment of engines to choose from in a modern car like they did in the late 60's. A total of 10 engines were available in the 69...sure, some were transitions, but still...
