Default lower radiator hose replacement

hey fellas,

i am replacing my lower radiator hose because it was all rotted and had holes in it. it was a B!tch to get out and now its being a even bigger B!itch to get back in. can anyone give me any pointers please? OH, and its on a 68" stang, Thanks!

Well, I don't really remember it being that bad on mine. Just push it back on and tighten up the hose clamps. What is exactly giving you trouble?

the alternator is in the way and i am affraid to take it out....

put some soap on the inside of the hose

Yes, that clamp is a tough one to get on, isn't it? I wound up using several extensions on my ratchet, and used a 5/16 " socket to go from the top. I tried tightening the clamp from the bottom, but that didn't work because I couldn't get a good angle with either a screw driver or the socket.

In the fututre, when removing hoses, try just taking a utility knife and cutting a slit in the end of the hose. This usually lossens the hose just enough that it will slide off with little effort.
