I found a Georgia 1965 plate that use on the back of my FB.
In GA, you can use year of mfg tags as long as you have the issued tag in the car.

up tp the 70 model year no newer i got my 65 tag from the junkyard for 2$ i sand blasted it now i just gotta paint it white with blue letters

my car sports the original slk 883 1966 cally black with yellow wrighting on it i always thought that was kinda cool to have.

I have traveled all over the world while working for the DOD, and I have had many cars overseas. I have also been a band director in Texas for a number of years. I just wish I had an example of all the license plates I have owned, but these are the only only ones I kept. What strange and out of the ordinary plates do you guys sport on your classic Mustangs? I would dearly love to have a set of 65 Texas plates, but can't find them for less than 125 bux each.

No, I didn't save any from Alaska. I never intended to collect plates. These were just some I never threw away.

I've got a pair of black 1966 Texas plates on mine.

As for 1965 plates for you Glen, here's a pair on eBay right now with a starting bid of $6.50:
