If you want the perfect fit and the awesome functionality/reliability/repairability of the good aluminum radiators, then pony up and buy one.

I have a BeCool in the GTO, that thing used to run 220-250 all the time in Charleston SC. I put the BeCool in there with an electric fan on a thermostatic switch, and it rarely if ever gets over 190, since that is where the fan is set to kick on. The high end ones are a bolt in deal, no fab work at all. For $500+ it should be that simple.

Cheaper means more work for you to do. if you can do it, then buy the cheapies. I have one in the race car and it works great. if it can keep a 700hp 467ci drag engine cool while sittin in traffic, it can surely keep your mild 289/302 chilled... with the right fan and a trans cooler if you have an auto. the drag car has a HUGE cooler with its own fan on it, since the radiator doesnt have a cooler built in.

you can also disconnect the lower hose if you dont want to use a shop vac....and that way you can see if there is any debris down there also..

I second that.... The cheepo's also may not be of the same manufacturing process as well. The good radiators are true direct-fit, bolt-in replacement. There will be no modifications needed for install it, my installation went great and everything fit like it should even the fan shroud. Also, some cheepo radiators use epoxy to seal some parts of the radiator.

I got my direct replacement aluminum from a local radiator shop. It's also made by Northern. Summit has the same one for a little under $300. Solved my overheating problems. Looks good too.

I have a Be Cool no shroud or electric fan and have had NO overheating problems. The Be Cool is a little pricey but money well spent.

Well, I don't have an aluminum radiator, and I live in hot Texas. I do have a 4 row copper core rad though, and my car runs cool as a cucumber with the air con on in standing traffic. The best mod I have bought for it has been the shroud and overflow tank. Cheap insurance.

I would not advise putting that cross flow aluminum radiator, from the first post, in a mustang. sounds like a lot of fitment issues and ya never can tell about flow.
