DAmn, I was following a friend of mines dad. He has a big duel wheelie truck. Anyway, a freaking rock shot out, and cracked my windshield. Im freaking seething. I should make them pay for it, since they dont have mud flaps.

check your state laws about mudflaps if there are laws and he is in the wrong he will have to pay for the damage to your window

yea, im going to... the only bad thing is, it's one of my friends(sorta) dad........ idk. I guess i could have been following too close, but even if i was back more, it probably would have hit. it hit it hard as hell.

REally sucks and I feel for ya. My SUV windshield is $400 and same thing happened in the spring.
I kinda just think of it as an honest accident though. Stone in the windshield is one of those things that are just gonna happen.

I wouldn't ask for the cash. If you know him well I'd mention it and see if he would offer to pitch in or something, but if he didn't I wouldn't press it.

yeah.... im thinking that over. Im going to put some sealant on it..... and "get around" to it one day. it still pisses me off. That is just my luck. The car is 40 years old, but of course it's going to happen while i own it, and drive it.[:'(]

check with your insurance it may be covered and it will not make the insurance go up. I've had 4 windsheilds put in my ranger with them paying for it and never had my rates go up.

this morning i was driving north to go to my college to fill out some stuff for admission enxt semester anyway i was in the left lane on the highway and i notice theres a whole bunch of chunks of long wood, looks like it fell from some mexicans truck. its in the middle lane so i dont have to wortry about it. all of a sudden rught before i pass it a hge F-350 from like a cable company truck comes flying down the middle lane straight over the wood and 3 big *** pieces fly into the air and come straight at me, i braked and swerved a little at the last second and only 1 hit my windshield, it didnt do anything thank god. but that pissed me off a little. i was going at least 80 in the fast lane, and he flew by me and i didnt even see him coming.

yeah, thanks. Ill do that. Now i just cant wait to tell my dad about this. He is tired of hearing me tell him things are wrong with the car, and this will sure make him super happy.

Ditto - In Florida, they'll just about replace any front windshield. They consider it a driving hazard and would rather spend the 2-300 bucks to replace the windshield than have an operator drive around w/ obscured vision.
