Default Water Pump Question

I'm not very familar w/ the mechanics of the water pump - I removed the PS pump when I converted to MS, and just pulled fan and water pump pulley in order to install an electric fan. So now there are no belts going to be driving the water pump. How do people get around this ?

I think you just put the pulley back on with some smaller bolts

OK so the water pump is not belt driven? What powers it then, the camshaft?

Put the fan pulley back on the water pump. It is belt driven. The same belt powers the water pump and fan.

Since I no longer have a power steering pump I need a belt that just runs to the huge pulley below the fan right?

How do I go about sizing a new belt for that?

Here's the old setup, but now the fan and power steering pump are gone (the belt went from main pulley --> PS pump ---> fan)...

Yes, the water pump is driven by a belt. Since you no longer have the PS pump to deal with, just get a belt that will operate the alternator and the water pump coming off the main pulley. Just go to autozone and explain what you want, and they will most likely have the correct belt.

ok that sounds easy - there's two free spots on the main pulley - should I run it in front or rear? (alternator is in mid)

THANKS FOR THE HELP !!!!

Put the belt where it matches both the alternator and the water pump. They should be on the same groove. Here is a pic of mine.
