1967 sunroof

1967 sunroof
I was considering putting a sunroof in my 67 coupe and am in need of advice. First is it a plausible idea, I've seen aftermarket sunroofs in other classic cars not made with prefabricated sunroof designs but I don't know if it would work with mine. Second I do have the map light so I know I have wiring up there, would a power opereated be a good idea? Third and probably most important would it look good or just incredably stupid?

here's what I think. If you like the look of it go for it and who cares what everyone else thinks (personally I don't like my half rag top but a lot of other people seem to like it). Now to answer the other question, functionally it should work and not mess with the integrity of the top. As far as a power sun roof, you may have to modify the wireing because the dome light works off of the light switch/door but you probably are aware of that..

If I were you I wouldn't do it. My 68 has a sunroof in it, it was in there when I bought the car and I wish I could get rid of it, but that's one of those things where once you put it in, it's in to stay. Mine wasn't leaking when I bout it, that's only because the previous owner siliconed the thing closed, so it wouldn't open either. It looks decent. I haven't got around to having it replaced yet, because I am still working on other parts of the car. My car also has the overhead dome light (which was hidden UNDERNEATH the headliner) and the wiring was not bothered at all.
Just think it through really well before going for it. I have a bunch of photos of mine if you need any other help. I've attached a couple of photos I took a long time ago

If you are asking for advice, I would advise against it. Believe it or not, the roof on a coupe or fastback is indeed a part of the integrity of the car. Besides that, I personally would burst out laughing if I saw a classic Mustang with a sun roof.

sun roofs belong on minivans and beamers, not stangs. I have one in my 92 5.0 and I absolutely hate it. During long commutes on a sunny day, it really raises the interior temp, and it always seems to let in just enough glare to be a major pain in the ****. The metal moulding along the exterior of the glass has already started rusting too (it looks like ****). Don't do it man!

yeah, thats why convertables had to have so much structural reinforcement or else they would just collapse....
