RE: export brace/monte carlo bar
Yeah, me too. I have a repro sitting in my garage ready to go on the engine bay of Ol Yeller. Exactly what would I be accomplishing by taking off my shock tower brace to cowl and adding the export brace? A more rigid front end?

Regular ol mustangs, had the two piece brace. The part tacked onto the shock tower, and then the brace bolted to that. You must remove the tacked on part to install the export brace....

RE: export brace/monte carlo bar
I know that the aftermarket ones vary in their construction and if Im not mistaken they are also thicker. I will put a call into Mustangs Plus tomorrow to confirm the differences. Soaring I can tell you that the shock-tower mount version of the export brace is more efficient than the original bolted style that you have on your ride now (mostly because of how its installed--bolted to the top of the shock tower instead of by two bolts on a welded bracket).
