Yup, you're right as long as you make sure the posi unit is in line to handle that as well. I went with a Richmond locker.

a cleveland in a 66 is gunna be a Tight fit. but an8inch should be fine for a rear, i believe they can hold up to 450hp/torque(?) someone correct me if im wrong.
+1, the 8" is a strong little rear end. I found myself a reinforced MAE racing pumpkin with a locker. Now the axles are what you have to be careful of. the 28splines can be puney if you put too much torque to them (i've bent one before) Consider axle upgrades.

i believe it was ebluekeys that gave me this guys email who sells 8inch posi units, i wanted to buy one and my dad was supposed to have payed via paypal, and everyday i tell my dad to do that but he keeps forgetting. i have 28 spline 8inch, and i am set on getting this posi diferential. in my cleveland im shooting for at least 300, maybe around 350, 400 is way too much, but hey, if it gets there it gets there. my 8inch should be fine with around 350
Yes, but also think about updating your suspension. Some new leafs, shocks, and springs will help a lot. Also it wouldn't be a a bad idea to get some subframe connectors.

Hey guys I've got a '68 I6 too, and I'm really interested about where to find 4 lug wheels other than the stock hubcaps. I went onto CarDomain, but it looks like those are 5 lugs....help?
