i dont want anything that huge on my dash i need something to fit in the corner so i can see it while i look at the road and not have it to big to distact. I think the 5" is a little to big it reminds me of "FLAVA FLAV"!!!!!
Yeaaaaaaaaaauuuuhhhhh BOOOOOYEEEEE[8D]

volcom, you don't need a digi box to run the thing. Its just a digital guage. and btw, 5" tachs look just fine if you do it right. Mine sits on a pedastal that lowers it down into the nook of the dash pad. Makes it feel smaller.

i want mine on the other side of the steering wheel

No its a custom fabbed aluminum piece that follows the curve of the dash pad. It picks up two of the screws off the defroster vent and then follows the curve of the pad down to that opening. Then there is about a 2 1/2" pedastal for the stock autometer pedastal to mount on. My dad created a CAD model for it, I think hes still got the plans if you interested (i sell them to you for one millllllllllion dollars [8D])

I do not recommend a monster tach on the dash pad, thats where i had mine originally, but i kept gettin pulled over by the cops cuz it was really obvious. i put it down on the steering column now. stupid cops. [:@]

Thats actually one of the reasons why we fabbed my tach pedastal. By dropping the monster tach down into that nook in the dash pad, you actually lower the view obstruction that you would get if you mount it at the regular height of the dash pad. I think here in Cali, there is some sort of rule like any object 3"+ higher than the dashboard is considered obstruction of view and illegal. With my pedastal, the top half of the tach and the shift light maaaaaybe stick up about 2 1/2" above the dashline.
