MAE Racing

For the Win...

BTW, you aren't going to want that low of a gear set in your stang unless you've got a 5-speed. A C4 will be begging for mercy with 4.10's...

My toploader loves my 3.80's. Depends on your engine...some don't like low rpm's. 3.80's with stock height tires (245/50-16) yield 3k rpm at 60...and awesome gas mileage (14). I was getting 11mpg with 3.25's.

with a C4, your engine will be screaming with anything higher than ~3.55's @ 60mph

I can get you some but they are kinda expensive. I think around $200 but not sure

VERY true, when I had a C4 in my 66 with 3:55's, at 55 I was turning just about 2800 rpm.

Holy crap. My car runs 75 mph at 3k and i thought that was still revving too high. If i change out my 2.80 gear to a 3.00, would that make a big difference in acceleration and burn outs? Or should i go with a 3.25, and what kind of rpms would i be turning with it.

Well, there are many RPM calculators out there and it also depends on you're tire size. This is why I went to an AOD, I wanted the 3:55's but also wanted highway driving at a lower RPM. Now at 55 I'm only turning about ~1600rpm...
