The cut-off wheel worked great. It was very fast and a lot cheaper than buying all of those blades for the Sawzall.

ORIGINAL: Soaring

The bolt is frozen (rusted). So, the only way to get it out is to cut it off at both ends inside the spring eyes. I used a reciprocating saw, but others have used air cut off wheels and even cutting torches. One poster repoted taking off the back shackles and twisted the spring back and forth until the bolt came loose.

only way to get it done. Have you heard of a SAWZALL? Best tool you will ever buy, used mine just yesterday to put the 5.0 back in the F150.. dont ask...lol
but im interested in how you acomplished that!

yes,a SAWZALL is something that will do the jo when something else just cant. i used mine yesturday to basically cut my lower quarter out. the i needed to cut the drop area from the trunk. if i continued to use my Nibbler, i'd probably still be cutting right now. but then i ran out of light halfway through my welding. and i got work in an hour, woooo.... a whole 8 1/2 hours of work....

Go ahead and cut them off first, youll waste time beating on it. Those bolts WILL NOT come out without cutting them off. Even if you loosen the bolt, the metal bushing insde will be rusted to it and the bolt wont come out of the hole...
