fuel injection on 1966

RE: fuel injection on 1966
Think carefully before using the rear end off that Lincoln. Look at replacement parts for the brakes and the rear end.
Ya, I bought a 8" used rear end off a 1965 mustang (to get the correct width) and will probably just go with it - I think it was Mustangsteve that had the lincoln disk brake conversion thing - since I have the granada kit from degins, I have the master cylinder for a drum setup anyhoot
Cool, glad to hear you got it going and that it wasn't monster **** - the good thing for me is that the mechanic that manages our biz is pretty good and works on everything from cars to trucks to generators to excavators and also works for our buddies that race top fuel dragsters in his spare time so he is pretty good and said he would install it for me if I bought the beer and the grill. I was just going to go with the inline pump thing but all my cars with EFI have the pump intank (since I have a new tank, I would have to get another tank, etc........)
Intriguing stuff and glad to hear about a successful experiment

i did the fuel injection convershion useing all stock 91 5.0 mustang parts, it was easy and simple. the onley thing that sucked is i couldent use my stock gass peadle. my car is a 1966 and i got a peadle out of a 87 5.0 and mounted it. its not perfect and ive herd you can use a early 70s peadle that mounts better. all i had to do was splice the ignithion wire. i used an in line pump and weldled a bracket for it. i used the stock fuel sending unit and silver sauterd a return line hose to it. so far no leaks. i did the whole project in 1 weekend and outher than the gass peadle im happy. still got some tweekin to do on that douse anyone have any ideas?

You may want to hold off on that EFI setup for now. I've been piecing together a little known about conversion using an early 90's GM computer and sensors, then custom tuning in realtime using a USB emulator connected to a laptop computer. Tha'ts the cliff's notes, but it's the cheapest route possible and probably one of the best at the same time. I'll post my DIY after I complete the conversion to ensure I dont run into any snags.

oh my goodness, using GM parts
definitely keep us posted and the tunability would be soooooooo much better (I always wanted to go AEM in my Supra but was too cheap to plunk down the dinero)
