well I suppose it depends on what you compare it to, but I wouldn't call either one "fast" in stock trim. What are you wanting out of your car?

like mdvaldosta said what do u want?? if you want a cruiser and you dont want to do anything to it then stick to the 6 but v8 on the other thats a different story you also have stock but gas is a bitch especially with an high performance car also with v8 there are alot of mods you can do it, BUt its all up to you and what u want to do...

I'd go with the 8, a kid at work has a 66 that had a 200 in it, he switched it to a 289.

The 200 is a great little motor. Don't go draging with it, but it will get you from here to there just fine. Its faster then a old VW. It cost to much to change it to a V8.

I have a 200 I6 that I use for simply friday and saturday night cruising. Sounds great and looks good.
It's easy to work on and simple to tune, gets great mileage and is reliable as all get out.
No one knows what you have under the hood unless you advertise it.
I get kids in Ricers asking me to "light em up" all the time. I just smile and cruise on by.
Cheers,
Steve-O

keep the 6 for now until you get more experience driving a car and then you can always come back later after you're older and consider swapping in a V-8 in place of the 6. a 6 is a good engine to learn to drive with and after some experience, you can step up to a V8.
