6 cyl hop up
I have a 67 Stang with a standard 6 cyl 200 c.u. and a 3 speed automatic. Is there any companys out there that make performance parts for the 200? The car is my daily driver and its just a lil too slow for me after driving around in a 70 challenger with a 360 in it. I dont wanna spend money on converting it to an 8 but id just like to get a lil more power outta the 6... anyone have any ideas or sugestions?

really tough to get any performance out of that engine. There is an aftermarket header for it, and you could add an exhaust to that too, but I doubt you will be able to 'feel' much difference. Could try indexing your spark plugs and bumping your timing a little.

After owning at Inline six for quite some time, I have found numerous things you can do to this engine. Turbo charging? Umm I don't think that would work, I don't think the engine is really up to that, and it would cost you a lot of money (more then a V8 swap), being everything custom. I just sold my inline recently and it had a few things done to it. First check Clifford, they make a lot of performance parts. Then go to fordsix.com they also specialize in inlines. There is a book out there, (suprises me how many times I have typed this same stuff, lol) its called Ford Falcon Performance, its might say falcon, but it about the inline motors. Don't go giving up on the little six, it can pack a punch if given the chance. At peak, mine would keep up with a 289, up until the other guy hit 3rd gear. Miss those days (now I stomp them with my 350 haha). The Inline has a lot of low end torque. There is a ton of stuff out there, just search. If you have any questions just ask, I have a pretty good knowledge of the Inline sixes.

I have a old mustang magazine that they hopped-up a I6. One thing they did was a trubo. I looked for it last night and could not find it. Oh well. The heads really hold it back. they don't breath very good. Sprint 200 was talking about Ford Falcon Performance, I think thats where the trubo came from. I don't really know because it was about 10 years or more. When I saw that, I was thinking why. Now that I'm old, I think why not.
