i know that ive done a good amount of research on this transmission and its supposed to be able to bolt on to my 289 with a minimal hassle. the ad says its a t5 and it doesnt say what it came out of or anything, so my question is that since its a t5 would it work with my car? is that tranny meant for just old stang's or did the put t5's in some of the late model stang's? if it came out of a late model stang would it still work? and what would i have to do to make it work?

well sorta you can gets kits for them and second its a good tranny i would get the wide ratio one

make sure is a ford v8 t-5 not gm

I did the swap in my 67 289 coupe. Not a problem, the late model bell housing bolts right on. I spent about $3000 by the time it was all said and done. The best source I found for parts was Modern Driveline, and if I were to do it again, I would just buy a kit from them.

yes it will work assuming its from a ford. they dint have t5s for old stangs there late model well i think fox body is when it started ill prob be corrected. but yeah Modern Driveline would be the best bet they have everything you will need for this swap. its also easy to do, the only thing i had to do is cut out a small notch for the shifter to have full movement. here is an awsome site for this swap all you need to know... http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2000/09/t5swap/
