Rust on hood

Rust on hood
I have some rust on my hood, I want to find out the best thing to do about it now. I will eventually be painting but not for a while. So in the mean time I want to get rid of as much of it as I can and stop the process. And then put some primer or something over it.
I read the other surface rust thread https://mustangforums.com/m_2124841/tm.htm
But I did not know if this would be handled the same way with the wire wheel, phospohoric acid treatment and or rust encapsulation. I remember years ago when dealing with preping rusted metal we used stuff called naval jelly. But it was not on a car just exterior metal when house painting. I can't access the back of the rusted spot because of the metal frame parts on the underside of the front of the hood.
Here are some photos, there two of a spot on the hood and one of a little bit of rust around the of the base of the rear window.
Any comments or recommendations?

RE: Rust on hood
First you need to remove all the rust. Wire wheel, sandpaper, or chemical. (Eastwood makes a couple of good products in the chemical category).
Second you need to seal the metal to prevent further rusting. I recommend epoxy primer. POR 15 and rust encapsulator are good products however, I would limit there use to non-external surfaces. POR 15 breaks down in UV rays and Rust Encapsulator is subject to mild chemical removal (you can wipe it off with alcohol).
Third fix any pin holes that the epoxy primer did not seal.
Forth seal the filler with an epoxy primer or primer/sealer.
Hope that this gets you going in the right direction and let me know how it turns out.
