theres a vintage 70's 429 4v motor in the junkyard near my house i thin kthey wont 500$ for it its in a full size vert like 70-71 something like that

Does it have an engine right now? If its a Cleveland its a keeper.. if its a Windsor its still a keeper but will need aftermarket heads to really run hard.. if its a 429, when can I stop by and pick it up?

The EFI 306 will fit with room to spare. As for the rear, anything that would have been installed from the factory will be more than a match for that 306, whether it's an 8" or 9". Don't waste your time with the 8.8" in a classic.

give keislerauto.com or moderndriveline.com a try. both sell complete conversion kits for classic mustangs. also, instead of buying the entire kit you can just by the linkage and other parts you need. Modern driveline is CHEAPER
