gotta question - i read the attachment from soaring and it had an interesting statement - "body filler does not adhere to epoxy primer unless fully cured and then recommend sanding". They also indicate that it is a wasted step to do the epoxy primer before body filler. When I painted cars a long time ago, we would grind to metal and apply filler and primer over the filler. The guy at the auto paint supply store said that I should epoxy primer the whole car and then do the bodywork as the filler would adhere better to the primer.

the thing is if u expoxy prime the whole car u know htat all the rust is gone then u start body work .. now the statement that u must wait to use filler over the epoxy primer means u cant go right behinf the primer and apply filler beacause its dry to the touch but its still wet and full of solvent below the surface. example your not supposed to wax a car after it being painted for 30days beacsue the paint hasnt fully cured as fo rhte sanding part i would rather apply filler over bare metal even though its been primed that way u can make sure it has the proper tooth to bite and stay put. now if it was a very light skim coat then i would just rough it up with some 80 grit paer and around the are with some 180 soi could feather it out easily

its a good art ir u know how i personally have never tried to do it. they didnt even offer to teach us that in the collision repair school i went to. now if u want the next best thing to lead use metal to metal its an alum based filler that water proof and wroks just like regular filler but has a different type of hardner similiar to fiberglass hardner ever coat makes this product also
